Meet the Reground team

A group of engaged change-makers working hard to improve our planet.

NINNA K. LARSEN - Founder & Director

Ninna is an expert in behavioural design, marrying her passion for sustainability and practicality to create real change in the waste and innovation space. She founded Reground in 2014 after experiencing the unnecessary coffee waste in Melbourne. Ninna is determined to see businesses stepping into the circular economy and put impact over profit.

A minimalist and sustainability fan, Ninna is an active follower of the ‘less is more’ lifestyle. She enjoys nature and great design.

Annaliese Lawry - general Manager

With a business background in operations and logistics, a Masters in Environment and a passion for sustainability, Annaliese is a perfect fit for our dynamic crew.

You’ll find her covering all bases with operations and logistics at Reground, working to connect cafes and businesses with community gardens all over Melbourne and the Surf Coast and build smart, innovative and sustainable solutions to the waste crisis.

Outside of Reground, Annaliese loves connecting with nature and is keeping busy cultivating a new obsession with gardening.

OLIVIA ASHTON - Business Development & Project manager

With extensive experience as a sustainability consultant, Liv is using her expertise in relationship building to take Reground’s work to the next level.

She’s loving the tangible, real-world aspects of Reground’s work and being a part of our fun, hard-working team.

Outside of office hours, you’ll find Liv out in nature camping and mountain biking or working on upcycled craft projects with friends.

Alice Callagher - Consultancy manager

Alice has a passion for educating others to feel empowered about tackling climate change.

Having studied Earth and geographical sciences, followed with experience in marketing, Alice is keen to find ways to motivate people to take sustainable leadership within their work, community, and everyday lives.

When she’s not talking all things waste, you can find Alice exploring the local running trails, down the coast or tuning in to some live music.

Fiona parsons - Communications Manager

With a depth of experience in Melbourne's specialty coffee scene, Fiona has been an advocate for Reground since long before she joined the team.

In her 10+ years brewing, selling, talking and teaching all things coffee, she developed a keen awareness of the industry's barriers to sustainability as well as the community's drive to do better, and sees resource recovery as an enormous opportunity for positive change.

Obsessed with smart systems and local solutions, Fi loves that at Reground she can spend her time applying her skills and experience in service of a sustainable future.

BÉATRice Roy - Operations manager

Back in Montréal, Beatrice did her Masters in Environmental Communication but since moving to Melbourne she’s been indulging her passion for the coffee and hospitality industry.

In her work as Reground’s Operations Manager Beatrice is loving being able to combine her professional skills with her personal values.

“I find great satisfaction in everything efficiency and processes, which makes this job a perfect fit for me. Knowing that my work aligns with my personal values is incredibly valuable. At the end of the day, there's nothing quite like the feeling of doing work that truly matters.”

Rebecca Stobbe - PROJECT ASsistant

Rebecca’s upbringing - surrounded by beautiful, accessible natural spaces in the USA’s Pacific Northwest - is the basis of her passion for the environment and for nature-based solutions and innovative system change.

With a background spanning the coffee and music industries and an environmental degree, Rebecca’s work with Reground is a place she can apply a creative lens and open mind in a collaborative atmosphere to create tangible at a local scale.

Rebecca is moved by the Toni Cade Bambara quote "the role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible." For her, Reground is the organisation where this can happen.

Matt Trumble - operations assistant

A keen gardener, mountain-biker and bushwalker, Matt has been studying and working in sustainability and resource efficiency for many years and has built a wealth of knowledge, experience and ideas in this area.

For Matt, doing work that has a positive effect on environmental sustainability is vitally important; seeing tangible results in his day-to-day work at Reground is a bonus.

“I enjoy meeting the great people joining us on the waste diversion journey, and at the end of a hard day's work seeing the mountains of coffee, chaff and plastic that will be put to good use.”

Yoshi Tanaka - Operations assistant

Yoshi is a trained chef with many years experience in hospitality and coffee.

Ready for a change and eager to tackle the growing problem of food waste, Yoshi says that joining Reground was an opportunity for him to engage with a community of people who are passionate about sustainability and the environment.

As part of the Reground team Yoshi is happy to be learning more every day and spending time with people who care about the environment and our future.

Sam Heathcote - Operations Assistant

Sam, who leads a glamorous double life in audio post-production, broadcast and live sound, developed a taste for great coffee (and the coffee industry) while living alongside cafe professionals.

An enthusiastic gardener with a growing interest in the circular economy, Sam enjoys getting his hands dirty as part of his work with Reground, chatting to business owners and gardeners, discovering new loading zones and testing out new music in the van.

His time at Reground has made him an advocate for better waste and recycling education - especially around soft plastic.

Josh Terrington - Operations supervisor

A software developer by trade who has run his own business as well as co-founding a start-up, Josh is particularly skilled in problem-solving and workflow: finding human-centred solutions to the problems we face.

As a big coffee drinker, he’s happy to now be part of the solution to coffee waste as part of the team at Reground.

A friendly, wise and approachable person, Josh is passionate about the power of education and behaviour change to help businesses and households adopt better, healthier and more sustainable practices.

Rhys young - operations assistant

Rhys has always been passionate about waste, animal and environmental issues, and his interest in communal trading and circular economies was just taking off when, as he says, ‘the stars aligned’ and he found himself at Reground.

Rhys enjoys the simplicity and calm of his days behind the wheel (and in the garden) for Reground; his easy-going, positive nature means that even roadworks in the CBD don’t seem to stress him out.

Outside of work, Rhys is pursuing a minimal, tread-lightly lifestyle as a fantastic (formerly professional) cook, a rock climber and a long-distance skater.

Josh MUNari - PROJECT SUPPORT

Josh is a dynamic professional who thrives on connecting with people and understanding their needs and aspirations. He’s passionate about contributing to community-driven sustainability solutions.

In his work at Reground, Josh is committed to empowering communities to tackle waste issues head-on and find the solutions that work for each situation.

Her pursuit of excellence extends even to her palate, where she enjoys the thrill of trying new ice cream flavors. Tessa's alignment with Reground is driven by the perfect confluence of sustainability and down-to-earth impact. She's excited to contribute her skills to a team dedicated to greener, impactful landscapes.

Andrew scott - Project Assistant

Coming from an Industrial Design background, Andy is passionate about working towards improving waste and recycling systems.

As part of the consultancy team, he loves being able to work in our friendly Reground team while working toward improving sustainability practices in Australia.

On his weekends, you can find Andy tending to his garden, hiking or working on passion projects involving his bike.

Stephanie CaraGLANIS - MARKETING ASSISTANT

With a strong background in social media and digital marketing, Steph was brought to Reground because she was passionate about pivoting her career toward purpose-driven work.

As a self-proclaimed ‘David Attenborough stan,’ Steph is passionate about biodiversity loss and taking care of the planet so we can protect all life.

As part of Reground’s small but mighty marketing team, Steph is enjoying the hands-on work environment of Reground and seeing our impact firsthand.

DARREN VANDENBERG - OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

Coming from a background in corporate IT, Darren was in search of a more hands-on, local role. As a passionate and avid recycler for most of his life, Darren came across Reground while researching soft plastic collections.

As an environmentalist and animal lover, Reground was the perfect fit.

When he's not behind the wheel - you can find Darren on a run, enthralled by a great novel, or solving a brain-teasing jigsaw puzzle.

JOSH BARROWCLOUGH - OPERATIONS Assistant

Born in New Zealand, Josh has always had an affinity for the outdoors. Moving to Melbourne almost 6 years ago, Josh wanted to work in an ethical role that worked toward making positive change in society.

As part of the collections team, Josh is enjoying the fun and dynamic environment Reground brings.

On his days off - you can find Josh in nature, taking some snaps of native wildlife. His number one goal is to climb Mt Kosciuszko.

Our team would love to talk with you
